Round the clock water supply for households was going to be real soon in our Guntur.District Collector and Special Officer, Guntur Municipal Corporation, Kona Sasidhar, said the Detailed Project Reports (DPR) had been prepared and sent to the government.

Guntur draws water from multiple sources. The major source is from the Krishna from where water is pumped to the filtration plant at Takkellapadu. In addition to the two 45 MLD filtration plants, the GMC has built another 45 MLD plant. The 27 MLD filtration plant at Sangam Jagarlamudi is also being augmented.

Round the clock water supply will be available to households with 135litres per day.The city consists of 88,935 tap connections and they would be fixed with automatic meter readers. The lines would be fitted with bulk flow metres, energy metres and other systems preventing leakages.
