Andhra Pradesh Development Corporation limited has reinvited tenders for construction an iconic bridge on Krishna River with a cost of 1348Cr.Befor it was invited with an of 1434Cr but it was cancelled.It was a six lane bridge from pavitra sangamam at Ibrahimpatnam to Amaravati across Krishna river.Even though the ADCL had invited tender in mid-2017 for the 3.2-km bridge, which would provide an alternative link between Vijayawada and the capital region, other than the existing Prakasam Barrage route, the process was scrapped later.

According to the officials,he works of the iconic bridge are likely to begin in the second half of 2018. The completion of the project is expected to take 1.5-2 years. The six-lane bridge, which will be taken up under Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) model, is proposed across the River Krishna.
