Eight innocent killed in flood-hit Guntur in Andhra after heavy rain. Four people are missing. Schools in Hyderabad have been closed. Rain water stored and damaged the railway tracks which led to the stoppage of trains at Falaknuma, Palnadu and other railway stations.

This heavy rain disturbed the normal life out of gear in Guntur. Highways mainly Guntur- Hyderabad was cut off due to over flooding. Palnadu Express and Macherla Passenger were stopped at Reddy Gudem and passengers were immediately evacuated from both trains.

SCR PRO (South Central Railways) Shankar said that all passengers who were evacuated were transported to Hyderabad safely in buses.

Narsaraopeta, Sattenapalli, Bapatla and some villages in Guntur were merged in water causing major damage to roads. Private buses were stuck in floodwater near Narasaraopeta and locals rescued the bus commuters.

Guntur lost its transportation from Narsaraopeta, Macherla, Chilakaluripeta and other adjacent areas due to overflowing of floodwaters on the roads.
