Gone are those days where we have to go-to Hyderabad,Vizag or Vijayawada for passport.A regional office was opened in our Guntur with the collabaration of Ministry of external affairs and India Post.It was Post office passport Seva Kendra and it has a capacity of handling 50 applications per day.

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao on Thursday inaugurated the Seva Kendra on the premises of Head Post Office in Chandramouli Nagar.

Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Ananda Babu said that people in the district need not go to Vijayawada for getting a passportt. All they needed to do was to enter the website of Passport services and book the slot. Personal appearances are a must to enable the personnel to finger print and record Iris images, he said.District Collector Kona Sasidhar said that the passport Seva Kendra in the district was part of centre’s policy of establishing seva kendras in all districts across the country.
