Indian Badminton star Kidambi Srikanth who was hailed from our Guntur was appointed as Deputy collector by our CM Nara Chandra babu Naidu.Kidambi

Chief Minister handed over the appointment letter to him in Amravati in the presence of former All-England champion and celebrated badminton coach Pullela Gopichand.CM also congratulated Srikanth for recently receiving Padma shree award, the fourth highest civilian award in the Republic of India.

After bagging the title at the Indonesian championship in June last year, Srikanth was felicitated by Naidu in Vijayawada and was also promised a government job.Later in November 2017, the State Cabinet passed a resolution deciding to appoint Srikanth as Deputy Collector in Group-1 service.Earlier, Srikanth became the second youngest sportsperson in India after Rio Olympic silver-medallist PV Sindhu to have received the Padma shree award.
