The complex construction was completed in a record time of 197 days. The latest budget session of the Andhra Pradesh assembly was conducted here in March 2017.
The assembly currently provides temporary facilities in the Velagapudi which is located in the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati. The first session of assembly began on 6 March 2017. Before Assembly sessions used to be in Hyderabad at the State Assembly Building.
The new secretariat in Velagapudi Amaravati is located at a distance of around 31 km from Vijayawada.
