LED lights consume very less power when compared other forms of lightning.To make use of energy efficiently the use of LEDs have to increase in a large scale.Andhra Pradesh was already in the country by installing of 9.19 lakh LED street lights across the state.Now the state aims a world record by installing 30lakh LED street lights across the state.As an Ugadi gift, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced another 15 lakh street lights (out of a total target of 30 lakh) to the rural areas as part of the efforts to make Andhra Pradesh one of the best energy-efficient States.

This would benefit 500cr to the state by saving 333 MU of energy.It provides a brighter and energy efficient villages.Andhra Pradesh was leading in 1st place in in the Street Light National Programme (SNLP) followed by Rajasthan, Gujarat, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh.According to a press release by the government’s media adviser (energy) A. Chandra Sekhar Reddy, the programme would significantly change the appearance of the villages and lead to brighter streets, besides enhancing a feeling of safety and security among the residents.
