The first fullmoon of 2018 is the first supermoon.We know that today jan 2,2018 is a full moon day.Supermoon means moon appears in the closest point to our earth.
The moon today appears 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than normal fullmoon.It became prestigious that the first fullmoon in 2018 became Super moon .That too on just 2nd day of New year.
“The best time to watch this supermoon would be when it is setting over the western horizon in the early morning. People can witness it from any place where the western horizon is clear,” said Arvind Paranjpye, director of the Nehru Planetarium.
