After Independence Guntur became a centre for education and there are people coming from all over the state to study here.There are 3 main colleges in Guntur at that time AC college,Womens college and Hindu College.Their seats were limited and filled very fast.This is the scenario before 50 years.To provide higher education to everyone Jagarlamudi Kuppuswamy Chowdary college(JKC) was established in 1968.
During the 1st year itself 200 students joined in this college.That was a huge number in those days.At present they offer many courses and it was credited with NAAC A grade.The college was 1st started in 98 cents.Now it was increased to 8.18 acres with huge buildings,sports grounds,walking tracks etc.There are 52 rooms for Under Graduation classes,13 rooms for PG classes,and 13 and 9 labs for PG and UG respectively.
This college completes it 50 years and golden jubilee celebrations are planning in a grand way on February 2.Supereme Court Judge Justice Jasti Chalameswar was the cheif guest along with our assembly speakre Kodela Siva prasada rao.And for the celebrations on february 3 AP CM Chandra babu naidu and Vice president Venkaih naidu are attending as cheif guests.
