Chandranna malls have been opened in Guntur and Vijayawada to replace the existing Ration shops.Soon these malls are going to be opened all over the state. The Chandranna Village Malls will sell essential foodstuff at a price 20 per cent less than the price in the open market.Over 300 varieties of items with 20 per cent discount on MPRs would be for sale at the village malls.Upto now it was well and good.

As we already know that these malls are taken over by Reliance and Future group FMCG(Fast Moving Consumer Goods Companies) companies.Reliance agreed to construct the malls in all districts and Future group will set up in East Godavari,West Godavari and Nellore.Future group also owns Big Bazar.

The idea is to replace the all 29000 ration shops with these vilage malls all over the state.Opposition is criticising that these malls would only benefit to Reliance and future group companies. Moreover Future group has open association with Heritage group(which was owned by Chandrababu Naidu and family) is inviting more critisicm.

Govt opened these malls as this will benefit to middle class as goods are available with subsidy.More over some are saying that it will be a huge blow to small shopkeepers.

Govt is maintaining silence and these malls opened in Guntur and Vijayawada are opened as testing and we have to see in future days how government deal this issue.
