The railway board decided to upgrade Guntur railway station with all world class amenities.The board sanctioned 20cr for various facilities in railway station because of its proximity near capital Amaravati.Western block was going to be modernised with various designs and paintings.

The existing subway is going to be extended to all the platforms.Two more lifts are going to be arranged and rooftops are going to be extended for the convenience of passengers.Additional waiting rooms and booking counters will be installed as a part of this project.Additional space will be set up to install more stalls to avoid congestion near existing stalls.
